Addendum to "Grin & Chuckle"
Poetry by Bob Butler

There is one type of experience
That most of us have had
It's waiting for the doctor
It can really make you mad.

The stranges kinds of crazy thoughts
Go tumbling through your mind:
"I wonder if he's in today",
And some thoughts not so kind.

But maybe there's another sould
Whe needs home more than me,
An unplanned situation,

An arm or broken knee.
Because I am a businessman,
The wated time is lost.
I wish the Doctor'd see me,
No matter what the cost.

I tried to get some info
From the ladies at the desk,
But they just seem so unconcerned,
I've a feeling I'm a pest.

If there's a real emergency,
Or is someone is away,
I'd understand the waiting...
But it happens every day.

Six people have appointments
for three o'clock, I'm sure.
I think I have the answer,
I know I have the cure.

For every minute's delay
Beyond appointment time,
Assess the Doc just one percent-
It's sort of like a fine.

The change would be immediate,
Appointments would be met.
The tensions would be lessened,
And we would cease to fret.
