Dana Smith-Mansell Dana Smith–Mansell resides at the base of a mountain in Pennsylvania, amid nature. Her work is inspired by nature and observation of emotion. Dana seeks to provide meaning, hope, validation, and inspiration to those who view her work. She is the author of the children’s book Stop Bullying Bobby, author and artist of Visions of Existence–Simplicities of Nature (poetry & art), and the author of Sacred Intentions–Depths of Perception (poetry) . She writes for the greeting card market and has been published by such companies as; Blue Mountain Arts, Yippie Cards, Paradise Greetings, Designer Greetings, and others. She is also a contracted freelance tribute writer and greeting card writer. Her freelance essays, stories, and poems have appeared in a variety of print and web publications such as; Letters to My Teacher–Adams Media, 2006, Cats Do It Better than People–Adams Media, 2005, Unconditional Love: Pet Tales by the Humans who Love Them–Avie Townend, 2004, Ideals for Women to Live – Blue Mountain Arts, 2006, Cosmic Brownies–Sun Rising Poetry Press–2005, For Better or Worse–Poet Works Press, 2005, Peeks & Valleys–2003, The Dabbling Mum Ezine, Worth Remembering Publishing, Shades of Romance Magazine, and recently Notes–in–the–Margin. She has won awards for her poetry. Dana has illustrated two children’s title covers, a complete humorous non–fiction title, provided illustrations for stories and covers for Characters–Kids’ Short Story and Poetry Outlet, illustrated a religious title cover, and individual pieces for various companies. Dana has a BS in Special Education, an MS in Behavior Disorders, and has worked in Special Education for twenty–four years. Now retired from the educational field, she concentrates fully on writing and illustrating. Dana enjoys sharing her work with everyone, especially children. She continues to write and create, surrounded by her three West Highland Terriers, one Scottish Terrier, and the matriarch cat, Kearsey.
