Marty Klinkenberg
Marty Klinkenberg is the senior writer at the New Brunswick Telegraph–Journal, the province–wide daily newspaper. He has worked as a reporter and editor for newspapers in Canada and the United States, including The Miami Herald, Newsday and The New York Times and he has served as a regular contributor to The Globe & Mail, National Post, Ottawa Citizen and Vancouver Sun, among other newspapers, and his work has also appeared in Macleans, Scientific American, Sports Illustrated, Self and Cigar Afficianado.

The winner of numerous writing awards, he was once part of a newspaper team that nominated for, but did not win, a Pulitzer Prize in environmental reporting. The son of a former Swing Era pianist and band leader, he once played the drums but is tone deaf and would never have made it past the judges on Canada’s most popular singing contest. He lives in Saint John, N.B., and is the father of a 7 year–old grade schooler whose favourite perfomers are Rex Goudie, Casey LeBlanc and The Rolling Stones.
