George Norrie George Norrie is the co-author and collator of information of From Cloddy Earth to Glittering Gold, the biography of his father, mining legend J. P. Norrie. He was born to the north, but was only five when his father died and the family returned to Nova Scotia. George lives in Truro, Nova Scotia, on the old family homestead. Harry Norrie, George’s older half-brother, provided the local colour for From Cloddy Earth to Glittering Gold, calling upon memories of life in the bush, the mines, and the mining communities, starting in 1927, when he was eight.
